Overview
You will be learning up to two modern languages in the hopes of developing skills as a linguist. You will work in translation, teaching, or have roles on the international stage!
Even if you don’t necessarily want to work as a linguist or teacher, you may study this degree to gain communication, critical thingking and intercultural skills which will help boost your employability in other arenas.
You will usually choose 2 languages out of an option which includes French, German, Spanish or Chinese. Candidates choosing other foreign languages may end up staying at university for 4 years.
Should You study
Many students have had lots of success with this degree however their background stemmed from already being multilingual themselves. With such a course, international connections are possible and usually, graduates won’t have trouble finding work granted they already know what field they are likely to work in.
